AIDS Day Memories!

On AIDS Day I thought that we had the right amount of awareness on when, what AIDS/HIV is. And we even addressed what we could do to help and how to do it. My reactions were static! First when I was on stage I was amazed how we had everyone’s full attention. But what really had me surprised was that people were so shocked and worried about they started to cry. And when I saw the video on the Larzarus Effect that almost made me cry. But finding out that we raised over 4,000 RM that made me soo happy. Our 4,000 RM could completely change someone’s life for 294 days. That’s almost a whole school year! And just by doing this on one day and just a little effort can make someone in this school want to change someone else’s life too.

My highlights of yesterday were when I went to go and buy a cupcake for AIDS Day. By the time I got there everything was bought and nothing left to buy. Which made me sad because I had no sweets to eat. But also happy because so many people bought food and gave money to AIDS. The thing I will remember about AIDS Day this year would be when I said my speech on stage at the assembly. I think that they should do something else than a soccer game. Like they could give out tickets and there will be lots of mini games all around the school. And every ticket is 2 RM and every game Is 1 ticket.

I learnt al lot more about AIDS Day and the most important ways to protect your self from not getting it. Also it made want to do something about it and change someone’s life! I WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE! :)

Global Issues.

What are global issues?
Any global issue is something that is known world wide and is a problem world wide. War, disease, human rights violations, terrorism, the financial crisis, discrimination, environmental issues, AIDS and poverty are few of the very many global issues that effect people's daily lives.

Why should I care?
I think that everyone should care worldwide. Reason one, because if everyone cares and does something to make it better, you'd be surprised at how much change that could do. Reason two, come on people its our planet, our only planet and if we don't do something about it, it could go to a level where we can't even control or stop it! MOst of us are taking grated for what we have every day, which some people in the world would be all they get in there whole life time. So, I try to care and it doesn't mean you have to care because others care. But just think it's not that hard to do, and you could make someone's life a whole lot better just by helping and caring.

Why this picture and quote?
I picked this quote out of the millions because to me poverty is the worst and most important global issue. Also if we solve the poverty problem it would make all the other global issue's so much easier to achieve. Poverty is also the global issue that is best known world wide and has been going on for way way too long which 2015 is when it must stop.
I chose this picture because to me it best represents poverty. It does because to me the boy looks happy but in the background looks very dirty and in the middle of no where. But also if they zoomed out a bit more you would probly see that the picture was taken not to far away for a city or public place. Which to me shows that poverty is all around us, we might hear the worst on the news or in class but that is just the obvious things. Also the kids in the background look to be helping themselves, although that young boy with the dog is the one who has to take the responsibility to take care of the dog. And he takes care of others before he can take care of himself, which shows that even the people that don't have as much as we might have, but he is still trying to help and make others lives better, human or non.
